MEAS has been awarding grant funding from NE for the Farmland Species Recovery Project.
This project seeks to work collaboratively with farmers encouraging sustainable and regenerative practices for the benefit of wildlife and people targeting marginal, underused and less productive land to trial and deliver species recovery interventions.
The commencement of the Farmland Project represents a huge step forward for conservation of key species across Merseyside. The securement of good farming practices as a result of the project will be critical for the long-term recovery of iconic native species. We hope this project has a lasting positive impact across important farmland habitats, securing the recovery of farmland species, following recent declines.
We are currently in the process of identifying suitable farms for the project and have visited a handful of sites with lots of potential
